A dinner-experience that turned hierarchy into human connection, one thread at a time.
INTENTIONWhat unites us — not just as colleagues, but as people? That was the question at the heart of Our Threads, a dinner-experience designed for the 100 leaders of Riachuelo, one of Brazil's largest clothing brands. Built around the metaphor of the thread — something humble, utilitarian, invisible in isolation and that yet is the very thing that holds everything together—, it aimed to create lasting bonds and a deep sense of collective appreciation.
What happenedThe experience began before anyone sat down. In the weeks prior, each participant was asked to share what they genuinely admired in one of their colleagues. That information was quietly gathered and later returned to them at the dinner table under placemats with their names sewed onto it. Each guest was introduced not by their title or department, but through the words of those who work alongside them. The seating was anything but accidental. Each table of ten was carefully composed, pairing people who would challenge each other, or who had never truly met despite years in the same building. One of the guests at each table was assigned as the host, entrusted with a letter of instructions and the quiet responsibility of guiding the conversation forward. The dinner unfolded in three acts, each announced by a new set of questions hidden beneath the arriving plate. The questions moved from the professional to the personal, from the surface to something deeper, inviting each guest to step out from behind their corporate persona and speak as their true selves. At the end, each placemat with the guests’s names were knotted together, like the sealing of a collective pact for the company’s future. Our Threads was a work about trust, about recognition, and about the bonds that make collective futures possible — not despite difference, but because of it.
